Dan Hooker Left Chasing Dustin Poirier, This Fighter Will Be His Next Target

UFC number 5 Lightweight contender Dan Hooker had an amazing last fight at UFC 306, where he defeated Mateusz Gamrot via split decision to rise in the rankings of the Lightweight contenders. The Kiwi fighter stands at number 5 in the lightweight contender’s rankings. Dan Hooker post- UFC 306 fight call-out various lightweights, including former two-division champion Conor McGregor but a rematch against Dustin Poirier is what fans backed. Dustin Poirier is not looking for a rematch against “Hangman” as he aims for a trilogy fight against Justin Gaethje.

Renato Moicano, after his impressive win at UFC Paris against Benoit Saint-Denis, called out multiple lightweights, and Dan Hooker was one of them as he called all of them an “Easy Fight.” Moicano’s statements caught the attention of “Hangman,” who took a jibe at Moicano and wrote this on his X handle.

”Wasn’t that your excuse for ducking me in Perth?”

Dan Hooker wrote.

Renato Moicano was quick to respond and called out the Kiwi fighter for a title eliminator fight at the end of 2024.

”They didn’t offer the fight… but easy problem to solve… title fight eliminator in Vegas December #ufc”

Dan Hooker accepted the offer and replied.

‘100% they offer me a title shot of beating you it’s a done deal.”

During the post-fight conference, Renato Moicano questioned the rankings of the UFC lightweight division, aiming at the number 5 ranked contender Dan Hooker. Moicano wants to fight him next to prove himself as according to the Brazilian fighter, Dan Hooker didn’t earn that spot he had been put on the spot by the UFC and he will dethrone him from the place by defeating him in the fight as the Kiwi fighter doesn’t have any chance against him on the ground.
