Dricus du Plessis Replied To Alex Pereira’s “Scared” Comment

Dricus du Plessis after his fight

Reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has announced his plans to move down the weight class to fight for the middleweight title regardless of the results of his next fight scheduled against Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307. Alex Pereira is very involved in getting this match-up done after UFC 307. He called out Dricus du Plessis multiple times now, but as per him, the middleweight champion is scared to fight him. In his recent interview with Full Send MMA, “Poatan” said that fighting “Stillknocks” would be easier than making the weight, but he is ready to cut the weight if the fight is getting accepted from DDP’s side.

“Dricus definitely is an easier fight than fighting Jon Jones. I think making weight will be harder than the fight, but I did stop making that weight class because I said my body needed a break two or three fights without having to make that cut. Now I think I’ve rested long enough, I think I can definitely do that and make the fight happen, but it depends on him,” he concluded. “I showed interest many times, but he never replies.”

Now, Dricus du Plessis replied to Alex Pereira’s comments and denied the allegations of ducking Alex.

“A scared clown how dare you! Now that’s taking it too far. I’ve already said I’m in to fight either you or [Sean Strickland] what more do you want or should I tag your translator?”

DDP tweeted

Previously, Dricus du Plessis had shown interest in fighting Alex Pereira, but he wants it to happen at a higher weight class than middleweight, as when Alex Pereira loses to him at his weight class, he can’t make excuses. A battle between these two would be massive, but whether the UFC is going to do that remains to be seen.
