Former UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has recently had a bad experience on the roads of his home, New Zealand. According to his part of the story, it was a racist attack on him by the stranger who was captured on the camera by the bystanders. The unidentified man threw disgusting remarks at Israel Adesanya and even chased the champion with the intention of pulling a fight on the street; the champion kept his calm and didn’t get involved in any physical altercation. Now, he has taken the legal route to get justice.

“I am extremely disappointed after an incident on Wednesday when a random member of the public stopped his car, racially abused me, and challenged me to a fight. We have been in contact with police and will be pressing charges.”

“On Wednesday morning, I was leaving a cafe on Karangahape Road when a passing car slowed, and an occupant began yelling racial abuse and challenging me to fight.”

“I smiled, waved it off, and continued to my car. The vehicle stopped, and the abuse continued. I again waved it off. The car then parked, and the passenger got out, approached me aggressively, continued his torrent of abuse, and demanded I fight him. I tried to de-escalate the situation repeatedly. As he got closer, I asked bystanders to call the police.”

Israel Adesanya lost his last bout against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 last month. According to most MMA experts, the downfall of the “laststylebender” as the stats of the former champion is showing a bad picture of the champion. However, he took revenge on his rival Alex Pereira at UFC 287, but then he lost two back-to-back fights, first from Sean Strickland. Then, the reigning champion, Dricus du Plessis, defeated him. Apart from his MMA career, the events happening in his life aren’t encouraging either.
