“He better than you,” Nate Diaz Wants Dustin Poirier To Fight Paddy Pimblett

Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier face off

Former UFC interim Lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, after losing his UFC 302 fight against the reigning champ Islam Makhachev, hinted at his retirement from the UFC only to announce later that he won’t be leaving without fighting one more time in the Octagon and that too in a fight event at his home state, Louisiana. Rumors were there that Diamond’s last fight would be against the rising lightweight Paddy Pimblett, but recently, Dustin Poirier shut down the rumors by stating that he would fight a legend of the sport in his last fight and not the ‘”Brit.”

Despite confirming that he won’t be fighting Paddy, UFC veteran Nate Diaz wants the former interim champ to fight the Brit because, according to him, the latter is a better fighter than the former.

Fight Paddy p**sy. He better than you.”

Earlier, it was expected that Dustin Poirier would settle his business with Justin Gaethje in a trilogy bout, but the former BMF champ got booked against Dan Hooker for UFC 313 next month. The two first met in 2018, where the Louisiana native got the better of the highlight, winning the fight in the 4th round via knockout. Justin Gaethje settled the score with Dustin at UFC 291. In the 2nd round of the fight, he knocked out Dustin Poirier via head kick to become the BMF champ.

In an interview with “Schmo,” Poirier revealed that he is in talks with the UFC and negotiating on his retirement fight.

“I wish I could tell you more. I’ve actually been having calls every week with the UFC. But it’s looking like summer in New Orleans is close to happening for my retirement fight. A pay-per-view in New Orleans this summer would be incredible.”
