Tyron Woodley Open to a UFC Return: 'I Have No Door Closed'

Unexpectedly, Woodley is taking his recent run of hard luck like a champ. Despite six consecutive losses to some of the top mixed martial arts and boxing competition, Tyron Woodley still holds no hard feelings about how his UFC run ended. As someone who continues to explore options across the combat sports landscape, the 40-year-old has embraced his current role as a judge on PFL’s Challenger Series, deciding which competitors get into the regular season. With this newfound sense of purpose and peace in any situation, hopefully Tyron Woodley can return to winning eventually – but if not, he’s proved himself as one of the most resilient fighters still around today.

Tyron Woodley is truly embracing his newfound freedom as a free agent and is taking full advantage of the unique opportunity to follow his own path in the world of mixed martial arts. He is able to fight when he wants, and for whatever price works best for him. As if that weren’t enough, Woodley is also blazing a trail with his choice to take part in different disciplines from boxing to kickboxing and Muay Thai, not to mention Bellator, ONE, PFL, Glory or any other path he could choose. It’s clear that he understands how fortunate he is for the chance he has been given, and it looks like a bright future lies ahead for Tyron Woodley.

With the help of PFL, former UFC champ Tyron Woodley is now in the process of exploring his potential earning power and PPV event possibilities for 2023. However, it appears that Woodly isn’t ruling out a return to the UFC either as he notes that discussions are occuring with its president Peter Murray in order to determine what’s on the table. In speaking with ESPN recently, Woodley continued to express his gratitude towards PFL and his excitement regarding branching into unchartered territories in hopes of bolstering both his professional career as well as that of those within the promotion. It remains to be seen if this move leads to successes but there’s certainly no doubt that both sides have their hopes up for a positive outcome going forward.
