UFC president Dana White has announced the replacement for the UFC 294 fight cards, as unfortunately, both main and co-main events were in jeopardy due to the injuries the fighters sustained while training for the fight. The main event for UFC 294 was scheduled to happen between the current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and number one contender Charles Oliveira, but unfortunately, during sparring, Charles got a deep cut on the area above his eyebrows, and the doctor declared him unfit to go for the fight. Now, instead of Charles Oliveira, Alexander Volkanovski will be seen against Islam Makhachev for the second time in the cage.

In another fight card, the co-main event featuring Khamzat Chimaev and Paulo Costa got canceled as Paulo Costa got injured while training for the fight. The UFC brought in former welterweight champion Kumaru Usman as the replacement for the co-main event. Both fighters were going back and forth for a while, and the replacement done by the UFC has hyped up the fight more than it was earlier. Khamzat Chimaev will be returning to the cage after almost a year. He fought inside the octagon back in September 2022 against Kevin Holland, where he absolutely overpowered Kevin to get a first-round victory in the fight.

UFC 294 is scheduled to happen in Abu Dhabi. Despite the bouts that were announced earlier getting replaced, UFC didn’t disappoint fight fans with its last-minute replacements callout, as Islam vs. Volkanovski would be big. Even the co-main event between Khamzat Chimaev and Kumaru Usman is worth the hype as fans have wanted to see them in the cage for a long time. Finally, UFC has provided the fights people have wanted to see for a long time.
