Indian IT services giant Infosys has unveiled its latest brand ambassador, women’s tennis star Iga Świątek. The four-time Grand Slam champion, who has held the World No. 1 ranking for an impressive 70 consecutive weeks since April 22, has teamed up with Infosys in a multi-year partnership that aims to inspire and empower individuals to excel in their fields, much like she has in the world of tennis.
Salil Parekh, CEO and Managing Director of Infosys, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting Świątek’s remarkable journey and her status as a Polish hero who overcame challenges to achieve global success. He paralleled her journey with the digital transformation process that many of Infosys’ clients embark upon, aiming to become leaders in their respective industries.
Parekh noted that Iga Świątek’s story is not only inspiring for aspiring athletes but also for women achievers, aligning well with Infosys’ commitment to promoting gender diversity and encouraging women to pursue careers in STEM fields. Through this partnership, Infosys intends to work alongside Świątek to motivate and guide young individuals, particularly women, to take on STEM careers crucial for shaping the future.
This announcement follows Infosys’ earlier news of bringing tennis legend Rafael Nadal on board as a global brand ambassador. With both Świątek and Nadal on their roster, Infosys has solidified its position as a supporter of talent, determination, and excellence across various domains. The partnership with Iga Świątek further cements Infosys’ commitment to fostering inspiration and innovation, mirroring the values that drive both the athlete and the IT company.
