“There’s something wrong with cricket board there” Kapil Dev blasts BCCI and Indian Players.

India’s legendary cricketer and former captain Kapil Dev recently lambasted the BCCI for its functioning. He also minced no words in criticizing the Indian players for a lack of national commitment as the ICC CWC 2023 is just 2 months away and the Indian team is still looking fragile due to the injuries. Rishabh Pant, after the tragic accident, is still recovering and would be missing the World Cup 2023. KL Rahul is already out of the team following a hamstring injury. There is no exact confirmation on Jasprit Bumrah‘s return to the team as the bowler suffered a back injury last year and since then he has been working on his rehab.

While talking to “The Week”, Kapil Dev said that the Indian players are ready to play in the IPL with their injuries but have refused to play for the team in international games. He said that there is an arrogance in the Indian players, and they don’t want to take the opinions of the experienced players, like Sunil Gavaskar, who has an ample amount of experience to share with the young batters. He scolded the apex cricket governing body of India (BCCI) for keeping the schedules of the cricket players too busy around the year, and he suggested having an easy plan for the cricket players.

“Differences come out, the good (thing) about these players…is that they are very confident. Negative point is they think they know everything. I don’t know how to put it better than that. But they are confident, but they think ‘you don’t have to ask anybody’. What we believe is an experienced person can help you,”

Adding further he said some things about BCCI.

“If you have a small injury, you would play in IPL if it’s an important game. At this stage, cricket board has to understand how much cricket they should play. That is the bottomline. If today, you have resources, money, but you don’t have three or five-year calendars. There’s something wrong with cricket board there”
