India and Pakistan clash in cricket is a sight to be hold with as the arch rivals always bring the exciting contest of bat and ball, Pakistan’s bowlers sheer pace and Indian batters resilience always made the contest worth the time and money fans spent to watch them play no matter where the contest is happening, India and Pakistan recently faced each other in the group stage match on 2nd September where Pakistan’s pace attack of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah dismantled the India’s top batting order, Shaheen Afridi leading the attack sent two of the most lethal Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the pavilion and then Haris Rauf took wickets of Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill.
India was on the back foot in the first 15 overs of the match but it was the partnership between Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya that saved the Indian team and dragged them to a respectable score, according to the legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, if Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam didn’t change the bowling attack that soon then India would have struggled to reach even 200. After the 15th over the spin attack took the command, the duo of Shadab Khan and Muhammad Nawaz tried to get some wickets in their spells but it was Hardik’s and Ishan’s resilience that didn’t let that happen and they built a partnership of 138 runs off 141 balls for the 5th wicket and both batters scored their fifties, Ishan(82) and Hardik (87).
Sunil Gavaskar opined that if Babar let the pace attack continue for some overs or let one of their pacers to continue from one end along with the spin attack then the results could have been different. Speaking to India today he said that.
“I think the bowling changes didn’t make any sense because if you have three bowlers, the pace bowlers have taken the early wickets, you want to keep at least one ongoing from one end. I know that you can’t really go through long spells, but one person could have been bowling from one end and Shadab or Nawaz from the other end”

I mean India will be saying a big thank you because that’s what allowed the partnership to flourish because otherwise, if one of the pacers had taken just that one wicket between Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya, then maybe India would have struggled to reach even 175, 200,
