The 8th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 will be played between Pakistan vs Sri Lanka at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. It is going to be a battle between two Asian giants teams who recently played in the Asia Cup, in which Sri Lanka won the match by two wickets under the DLS method.

Pakistan started off their World Cup 2023 with not a strong performance against one of the weakest teams in the World Cup Netherlands. They made 286, but they were three down on just 38 runs but it was Rizwan and Saud Shakeel scored a century stand partnership together, and after that, it was Nawaz and Shadab Khan who finished the game on a quite high note.

Sri Lanka had a tough time in their first ICC World Cup 2023 match in which the bowling unit of them being thrashed around the Arun Jaitley Stadium as South Africa made the highest World Cup total score and also made a record of having a three-batter score of three three-century in single innings. The Lanka side lost by 102 runs as South Africa scored a mammoth score of 428 runs.

The Sri Lanka bowling unit needs to give a better performance, especially their pace bowlers, who went for a 9+ economy rate in the last match. Their batting unit did quite well against the South African pace attack, even after being two down in just under 67 runs.

We should have kept them to somewhere around 370 and that would have been a bit manageable. We got some batters who were striking it really well, but there was too much to do. We need to get our execution right in the next game.
