India had a tough match against the Australian team, even when they had better assistance from the pitch. It was all about KL Rahul and Virat Kohli’s innings as they had 165 runs partnership, which was recorded as the 2nd highest partnership for the Indian team in the World Cup. India was three out on just two runs, and everyone thought that it was over for India.
Virat Kohli and Kl Rahul started off slow by taking singles and doubles, and after they got settled, both players played some beautiful shots. Afghanistan will give all in the next match against Afghanistan, but they need to perform well, which they did not against Bangladesh. They had a horrible match against them and lost the match by six wickets.
Hashmatullah Shahidi was unhappy with the performance, but he was confident they could do better.
We had a good start, but we had bad shot selections after that. I think we fought well, but the score wasn’t good enough. Looking forward to the next game. Need to learn from our mistakes, need to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Hashmatullah Shahidi
Afghanistan played against India in the last World Cup when they gave a tough competition, but Dhoni and Shami were able to save India.
