Australia vs Namibia: Australia remained unbeaten so far in the T20 World Cup 2024 by registering their third consecutive victory in the league match against Namibia. Australia defeated Namibia by 9 wickets.
Skipper Mitchell Marsh chose to bowl first after winning the toss. Michael van Lingen and Nikolaas Davin started Namibia’s innings, and the Aussies didn’t waste much time to inflict the damage as in the third over, Nikolaas Davin got dismissed by Josh Hazlewood, and then other bowlers of Australia started taking wickets. Namibia’s skipper, Gerhard Erasmus, was the lone warrior on the team, and he fought hard to score runs for his team. Erasmus scored 36 runs which was the highest score from Namibia’s side. Adam Zampa took 4 wickets as Namibia was bowled out for 74 in 17 overs.
Chasing the target of 75 runs, Australia’s openers looked in a hurry to finish the match and cleared their intentions from the first over. David Warner, after scoring 20 runs, got dismissed, but that didn’t stop Travis Head, the left-handed batter, from continuing his aggressive play. Skipper Mitchell Marsh joined him as Australia chased the total in 5.4 overs.

T20 World Cup 2024 Match 24: Australia vs Namibia| Captains’ Corner
I thought it was a great performance from our bowling team. It was a beautiful wicket, a bit of swing out there. A professional performance. Great to qualify for the Super Eight. We get really busy after the game against Scotland and we will try to manage (our workloads). Hopefully we can win that and then move into the Super Eight. (On Zampa) If you look at his career, over the past four or five years, he is probably our most important player, in our structure. He loves the big moment, the pressure and he is bowling beautifully at the moment. (How they are keeping themselves prepared) Probably having not as many beers as you had back in the day Haydos (laughs). We have our families here, and with the wind around, it is perfect (smiles).

(On what they learnt from tonight) That you cannot sit back against the best in the world – that is one thing we learnt tonight. The skill gap is there but you can sort of close that by fighting fire with fire. We did not do that tonight. A good side like Australia will expose you if you are not willing to mentally step up on this level on a particular day. The conditions were fair throughout the last two games and we could not play well enough according to those conditions.
