Neeraj Chopra Into The Javelin Throw Finals Of The Paris Olympics 2024, Kishore Jena Failed To Qualify

India’s star Javelin Thrower and defending champion Neeraj Chopra has booked his berth into the finals of the Javelin Throw event with just one throw. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics Gold medalist was in Group B of the event, and the champion didn’t disappoint. He threw a monster in his first throw of the three, allowed to qualify for the finals using his immense strength. The Javelin crossed the qualifying mark of 84m and reached 89.34m, which is Neeraj Chopra’s best season. India’s Kishore Jena, however, failed to secure his seat in the finals. He didn’t cross the mark of 84m in his three attempts and finished 9th in his Group. Kishore Jena’s best of three was 80m.

Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who was in Group B alongside Neeraj Chopra, also qualified for the finals with his season-best throw of 86.59m. In Group A, Jakub Vadlejch, who was on the podium with Neeraj at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with a silver medal, is also in the finals, and he will probably be the one to give Neeraj tough competition in the finals, which are scheduled to happen on 8th August 2024. Twelve athletes have qualified for the finals. Among them, three athletes didn’t cross the qualification mark of 84m, but as they covered more distance in their throws than the rest of the athletes, they qualified for the finals.
