Next month at UFC 306, the reigning Bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley will defend his title for the second time. Top bantamweight contender Merab Dvalishvili will be the opponent of the champion, and there has been a lot of back and forth between these two for months. Recently, a physical altercation between Merab and a fan surfaced on the internet where Merab can be seen pulling the hairs of the heckler; some fans took the side of Dvalishvili, calling the act a necessary one to teach such people a lesson while some criticized the fighter. Champion Sean O’Malley has an interesting take on the matter; in fact, it looks like he is encouraging the fans to keep poking “The Machine.”
Merab Dvalishvili was at Craig Jones Invitation in Las Vegas and was sitting in the front row to catch the live action. The heckler kept passing disrespectful comments towards the Merab, and when that passed the patience threshold of the contender, he jumped the bars and confronted the heckler. The heckler’s expression showed his fear after “Machine” confronted him in the crowd. Merab pulled the hair of the person, but security arrived to separate the Merab from doing anything more.
Sean O’Malley, in the “TimboSugar show,” reacted to the Merab Dvalishvili incident. He encouraged fans to keep messing with Merab’s brain by constantly poking him.
“Merab had a little freakout,” O’Malley said. “This is what I heard: someone said ‘Suga’s your daddy!’ or something like that. So Merab climbs this three-foot fence, gets stuck damn near trying to get over, tries to jump over the other fence, and walks up there with his sassy hips and pulls his hair. That kid could sue him, 100 percent. You’re not allowed to physically touch someone else in public, that’s illegal…
“If that kid sued him, lawyer fees, lawyer this and lawyer that, it’s stressful. So if that kid decided to sue him right now, Merab might not make it to the fight…we’re in his head, so keep poking at him!”
