A few months back, former UFC Light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka was offered a title fight against the reigning champion Magomed Ankalaev, but the Czech MMA fighter refused it. Now, he has revealed the reason behind rejecting the fight against the new champion and his priorities as of now. Jiri Prochazka, while giving an interview to Full Violence, said this.

“Everything is settled. Everything is good. I’m after the fight, it’s a little bit of time. So right now I’m focused on this target. My life is just about the targets. What is right now? What is right now most important, the priority. And right now, that is school.”

Alex Pereira lost his light heavyweight title to Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313; the Dagestani decoded Pereira’s puzzle and won a unanimous decision over him to become the champ. “Big Ank” was ready to defend his title against Alex Pereira in a rematch, but “Poatan” asked for more time due to his travel and recovery issues, and when it was asked Jiri Prochazka about the trash talk that was going on between him and the reigning champ here’s what he said.

“He’s a big mouth. He’s a big mouth guy. I don’t care really [who runs his Twitter]. Right now I really don’t care about that because he did enough to [make me want to] stop him, to take him seriously. This is not how the champ have to speak … He will put himself down by himself just by this nonsense talking.”

Prochazka said.

The UFC was trying to get the title defense done in June at UFC 317, but the top light heavyweights are booked or have some other work to complete. The card without a light heavyweight title fight is exciting, as a new lightweight champ will be crowned after UFC 317.
