The Indian team suffered a defeat, which is going to hurt them, especially their bowlers, who conceded 350+ runs in the last day of the match, where most batters struggled to score runs because the pitch started to crumble, which helped the bowlers.
We are surely going to see some changes in the bowling lineup in the Indian bowling united after the poor performance by some of the new names and also some of the old ones like Siraj and Shardul Thakur.
Arshdeep Singh might debut for India in the next match, replacing Mohammed Siraj, who was ineffective in the last match, taking only two wickets in both innings and conceding runs at an economy rate of 4.00. He has taken 13 wickets in five matches with a bowling average of 41.76.
Having Arshdeep in the team will give the Indian bowling lineup a different variety, as he’s a left-arm seamer with a great swinging delivery and decent pace, which surely makes him more useful than Siraj, who doesn’t cut it on the England pitches because they are not a hard deck.
Karun Nair who made his come back to the test team after the 7 years failed to impress the team management but it is very likely that he going to given one more test match to prove his worth alongside Sai Sudharsan who been given the debut cap but due to lack of test format experience he fallen into Ben Stokes trap twice. However, Gautam Gambhir did say in the post-match interview that bowlers should be given the chance.

Edgbaston Birmingham Pitch Report

The Edgbaston Birmingham Pitch has been in favor of the batters, but after seeing the Leeds pitch, it can be predicted that England will once again make a batting-friendly pitch, similar to the last one. However, at the Birmingham cricket stadium, Jasprit Bumrah has a great record alongside Siraj.
India needs to make some changes for sure in the next match, but the question is whether they will replace Prasidh Krishna or Siraj from the bowling unit, and if they will give Akash Deep a chance alongside Nitish Kumar Reddy.
The probable Indian lineup for the 2nd test match can be Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill(c), Rishabh Pant(w), Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep.
