F1 Season 2025 Driver Lineup of Each Team and Potential New Drivers To Get Contract

2025 F1 Driver-Lineup: Sainz and Hamilton will be in new team

In F1 season 2024, 14 races have been completed, and the Red Bull Racing RBPT is still on top with 408, but McLaren and Ferrari are catching up with 366 and 345, respectively. Most of the team already confirmed their driving lineup for 2025 as many of them were very surprising for the F1 fans.

Let’s look at the confirmed F1 driver lineup for 2025 and the possible driver lineup for each team that is going to feature in the 2025 F1 season.

List of Driver Lineup For Each Team in 2025 F1 Team

Bull Racing Red Bull

Max Verstappen: He is the driving force behind Red Bull’s success. He is the current world champion and perhaps the most dominant driver in the sport. He has already won three World Championships, but in the last four races, he failed to win the pole position, and in three, he was not even able to make it into the top three, which is a rare result by Max in the last three seasons.

Sergio Perez: With great performances and important points for the team, the Mexican driver has cemented his status as Verstappen’s partner. However, many expected that Red Bull might not extend his contract because he struggled quite a lot last season and this season, too, but they have shown faith in him as he even wanted to end his F1 career in the Red Bull team.

Ferrari

Charles Leclerc: The young Monegasque driver has demonstrated a great deal of talent and promise. He can run at breakneck speeds and win races. However, in the last many races, he has not been able to come in first position but constantly hits third—fourth and sometimes second position, which is why he is in third place in the Drivers’ standings behind Lando Norris and Verstappen.

Lewis Hamilton: The seven-time world champion offers Ferrari unmatched expertise and a winning racing history. His departure from Mercedes begins a new chapter in his remarkable career. It was not as surprising as many of the fans seemed because, in 2021, it was seen that Hamilton was confident with the Mercedes team and did not have confidence in the team’s future, so he chose Ferrari.

McLaren

Lando Norris: A rising star in the sport, Norris never fails to dazzle with his maturity and speed. A future world champion is anticipated for the young Briton, and right now, he is in 2nd position in the driver standings, which makes him the first choice for McLaren.

Oscar Piastri: McLaren regards the Australian rookie as a long-term asset after demonstrating promise in his first season. In the Hungarian Grand Prix, he won his first race of the season, but it was the win from his teammate Lando Norris, who was 4+ seconds away from him in the final lap.

Mercedes

George Russell Russell is a reliable performer who has shown he can contend for podium finishes and triumphs. In the last race at the Belgian Grand Prix, he came on pole with only one step but later was disqualified because his car was underweight.

TBC: A number of youthful drivers and seasoned veterans are competing for Mercedes’ open second slot. One of the potential second drivers can be Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who was the Formula Regional European and Middle East Champions in 2023. He is also the Mercedes Junior Team Driver.

Aston Martin

Fernando Alonso: With his speed and racing prowess, the ageless Spaniard still defies the clock. He is the most experienced driver in Formula One right now, and his contract expires in 2026.

Lance Stroll: The Canadian driver has been improving lately, and he and Alonso have a strong relationship. However, getting the driver’s seat is not an issue for him because he is the son of Lawrence Stroll, who is the owner of the Aston Martin team.

Alpine

Pierre Gasly: The Frenchman provides Alpine with quickness and expertise. He must be able to get the best performance out of the vehicle. In recent times, his performance has dropped quite low, as he stands in the 15th position in the driver standings.

Doohan: The Australian youngster is the favorite to be the 2nd driver for the Alpine after Carlos Sainz chooses Williams for the 2025 season because he has shown a lot of promise and he will be the third Australian driver in the F1 circuit.

Kick Sauber’s Alfa Romeo

Nico Hulkenberg: With Alfa Romeo, the seasoned German returns to the racetrack, bringing invaluable expertise and reliability. He will take the seat of either Valtteri Bottas or Zhou Gunanyu for the 2025 season.

TBC: Several drivers are still in the running for Alfa Romeo’s second seat. As their target Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz joined another team, it will be tough for them to choose between sticking with one of the old drivers or going with a new driver lineup for the 2025 season.

Williams

Alex Albon: A key figure in the team’s comeback, the Thai-British driver has been a steady performer for Williams. He was a potential superstar at first but, in the last two seasons, became a mediocre driver who lost his seat in the RB and Red Bull Racing.

Carlos Sainz: A major addition to the team, the Spaniard offers Williams speed and experience. This was quite shocking news for all the F1 fans, who started hashtagging that Carlos deserved better than being with Williams, which has constantly come 9th or 10th since the last 5 years of Formula 1. However, Sainz is happy with the signing.

Haas

Esteban Ocon: The Frenchman strengthens Haas’ driver roster with experience and quickness. It is going to be the 4th team that gave him a contract for the 1 or 2nd driver, but the only issue with him has been his temper, which he has lost many times. It was seen in the past as he went up against his own teammates, who made him lose many of his races.

Oliver Bearman: A youthful and bright talent, joined Haas for his Formula 2 debut after graduating. Bearman graduated from Formula 2 and made his F1 debut with Haas.

RB

Yuki Tsunoda: He is one of the fastest drivers in Formula One and the only Japanese driver who will be the first driver for the Red Bull sister team RB for the fifth time. However, this season, Yuki is struggling to score points, sitting at the 12 position with only 22 points.

TBC: There are a few interesting young drivers who are considered to be the RB F1 because Daniel Riccardo’s future is uncertain. Either they will continue with him or go for the reserve driver, Liam Lawson, who already made his debut with Alpha Tauri in the 2023 season in the Dutch Grand Prix and has started for five races but scored only 2 points.
