On Friday, Ramgarhia Girls College earned a feat that they will remember for days to come. After defeating Government School Gill in an intense battle, the college managed to bag the Senior District Baseball championship crown. It was certainly a proud moment for the students of Ramgarhia Girls College as well as for their coach and staff. The victory will be remembered by them for several years and this achievement is surely going to put Ramgarhia on the map. The sheer hard work and determination of the team had paid off in the end and this triumph can be seen as an inspiration for other teams.
Last week saw the exciting conclusion of an inter-institute championship that had been held at the Government Senior Secondary School for Girls in Gill village. A total of eight teams from various institutes of the district showcased their prowess through three days of thrilling competition that began on February 16th. Each institute was represented by a team of highly motivated youngsters – all eager to bring honour and delight to their alma mater. The vibrant atmosphere combined with the high levels of competitiveness served as a powerful motivation and inspiring sight for people near and far, some travelling great distances just to be a part of this eventful occasion. All in all, it was an affair full of spirited sportsmanship, emotion and camaraderie between different institutes that everyone is sure to remember for long!
The third position in the Chakkar Sports Festival was bagged by the Gill Baseball Club from Ludhiana, who had a hard fought victory over the Government Girls Senior Secondary School Bharat Nagar. It was a thrilling match with both sides giving a tough fight for their respective positions. The tournament saw an unprecedented level of enthusiasm and skill which has motivated players to aspire for a place at the anticipated state-level championship scheduled to be held in March later this year. Accordingly, general secretary of Ludhiana District Baseball Association, Harbir Singh said that only highly deserving teams will be selected to compete at the state-level tournament. His words have further added fuel to the competitive fire of all aspiring baseball players all around.
