USA Basketball’s Star-Studded 2024 Men’s National Team Player Pool Revealed

USA Basketball reveals a formidable 41-athlete player pool for the 2024 Men’s National Team, aiming for Olympic glory in Paris. The star-studded lineup includes seasoned Olympians with a collective 23 gold medals.

USA Basketball officially announces a formidable player pool consisting of 41 athletes for the 2024 Men’s National Team, gearing up for the much-anticipated Olympic showdown in Paris. Handpicked by USA Basketball Men’s National Team managing director Grant Hill, the roster showcases a powerhouse of talent, subject to potential changes, with the final 12-member team slated to be revealed at a later date.

The player pool includes a stellar lineup of 28 athletes who have previously represented the USA in Olympics and/or FIBA Men’s World Cup, collectively boasting an impressive 23 Olympic or World Cup gold medals. The selection features some of the biggest names in basketball, ensuring a robust and experienced squad for the upcoming Summer Games.

Standout players in the pool include luminaries such as Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and others. The inclusion of seasoned Olympians with a history of gold medal success adds a layer of experience and skill to the roster, underscoring USA Basketball’s commitment to reclaiming the top spot on the Olympic podium.

Coach Steve Kerr leads the 2024 USA Men’s National Team coaching staff, which also includes Mark Few, Tyronn Lue, and Erik Spoelstra. Kerr, previously an assistant coach to Gregg Popovich during the 2020 Olympics, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to guide the team to success in Paris.

As part of the preparations for the 2024 Olympics, the USA Men’s National Team is scheduled to face Canada at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on July 10. This exhibition contest, set for 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET and broadcasted live on FS1, is a crucial component of the USA Basketball Showcase, helping the national teams fine-tune their strategies and teamwork ahead of major competitions.

Following the Las Vegas game, the team will enter an international training window, featuring exhibition games against the national teams of South Sudan on July 20 and Germany on July 22 at the O2 Arena in London.
