Sports personalities mourn the loss of lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash that happened yesterday afternoon. The Air India flight AI171 took off with 232 passengers and 10 crew members from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Airport, and minutes after takeoff, it crashed into a Medical hostel near the airport. The crash claimed 241 lives. Miraculously, one passenger who was going to England survived the crash and came out walking, though he got injuries to his chest and face, but nothing fatal happened to the Indian-born British national as per the reports, the total casualties in the fatal crash is around 265.

Just after takeoff, the pilot called “A Mayday,” a distress signal recognized globally as an emergency call. After that, the plane crashed, erupting into a fireball. The British government showed support to the Indian government and offered help if needed. Here is what UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said after the tragic incident.
