Australia Announced Squad For Test And ODI Series Against West Indies

Australia announced the squad, and Steve Smith will lead the team in the ODI series against the West Indies.

Australia, after registering a thumping victory over Pakistan in a three-match test series, winning it by 3-0, has now moved on to the other assignment. This time, Australia will take on the Caribbeans in a two-match test series and a three-match ODI series. Australia made some changes in the squad for the white-ball and red-ball format series, though the squad for the test series is pretty much the same as they had in the last clash against Pakistan. There are some additions to it. All-rounder Cameron Green got his name in the squad for the test and ODI series, and there is a slight change in the captaincy. As we will see in the ODI, Steve Smith is going to captain the team in the limited overs format.

It is still not clear who is going to do the job of the opener for Australia as the left-handed batter David Warner has said good-bye to the test and ODI games. Though Steve Smith has named himself to play the role of the opener in the test matches instead of batting at number four (this was announced by the selector George Bailey), it is still a question who will be the replacement of David Warner in the ODI series. Matt Renshaw, who was seen as a potential prospect to replace David Warner in the top order, has also been named in the squad, but whether he will bat at the start or not is up to the team management.
