David Miller during a match

South Africa’s left-handed batter David Miller is one of the most fearless batters when it comes to the limited-overs format, as the left-handed batter can change the course of the match from anywhere with his power-hitting capabilities, due to which he has been a regular appearance in the team for the white-ball format. David Miller, though featured in most of the white ball matches for South Africa, surprisingly has yet to make his debut in test cricket. The batter made his debut for South Africa back in 2010, and still he hasn’t played any Test matches for South Africa.

David Miller has surpassed the record of West Indies player Keiron Pollard, who didn’t play international test cricket until 224 matches he played in the white ball format. In fact, he is now officially retired from international cricket without playing a single test match for his team. David Miller, on the other hand, has appeared in 274 matches till now for South Africa without debuting in Test cricket, and he has also turned his focus towards white-ball cricket since 2018.

David Miller, apart from playing for his national team, has featured in 22 franchise cricket teams and is in demand in various T20 leagues due to his power hitting capabilities. The batter plays at number 5 or 6, and with his power hitting, he has several times changed the outcome of the match. In his recent innings against Australia in the 5-match ODI series, where Australia was leading the series with 2-0 and South Africa needed to win all three matches to win the series, David Miller at number 5 was phenomenal with the bat and helped his team to put a defendable total in the last three matches. South Africa won the exciting series 3-2.
