Deepti Sharma Honoured With Deputy Superintendent Rank By Uttar Pradesh Government

Deepti Sharma was honored by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with the DSP rank and a cash prize of INR 3 crore.

India’s women’s all-rounder, Deepti Sharma, has been honoured with the post of deputy superintendent of police by the Uttar Pradesh government. Deepti Sharma hails from the city of Agra, and the 26-year-old all-rounder has written many success stories for her team. Her contribution to the team’s victory in various international series was immense. Recognizing her contribution to sports so far, the Uttar Pradesh government felicitated her with a prize of INR 3 crore and offered her the rank of DSP in UP.

Deepti Sharma, hailing from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, with hard work and dedication, made her way to the women’s team and so far has represented India women’s in 194 international matches, proving to be an important asset for her team. She took 229 wickets so far, not just with the cricket ball; she scored crucial runs coming down in the order several times, which most of the time saved India from losing the matches. She was part of the team that won the gold medal at the Asian Games in China and also part of the silver medal-winning team in the Commonwealth Games.

Just last month, she was awarded the “ICC Player of the Month Award” for her exceptional performance against Australia in the series, becoming the second Indian woman to get the ICC Player of the Month award. Her rankings also improved, and now she is ranked number 2 in the ICC women’s bowler’s T20I rankings.
