After winning the toss, Hobart Hurricanes decided to bowl first, and Brisbane Heat started its innings with Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney, where the latter got out after getting off the mark in the second over of the match. Hurricanes lost their first wicket, and then Charlie Wakim got out on a duck. From there, Nikhil Chaudhary and Caleb Jewell partnered to reach the target. Both batters contributed significant runs for their team, with 1 required off the last delivery of the match; Matthew Wade hit a six to finish the game in style, winning it by 5 wickets.
