The ODI series decider between India and the West Indies was dominated by India, as they beat the host West Indies by a margin of 200 runs in the 3rd ODI at Trinidad. The all-round performance by India in the match choked West Indies at 151 runs by inflicting an all-out courtesy of Mukesh Kumar and Shardul Thakur in bowling, as the debutant Mukesh Kumar nabbed 3 wickets in the match and Shardul Thakur grabbed 4 wickets in the match. Mukesh Kumar, in his debut ODI match, toppled the West Indies top batting order, and Shardul Thakur did the rest of the work apart from these two. Kuldeep Yadav also scalped two wickets in the match.
While batting first, India’s batters looked strong; openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill had a 100+ run partnership, and both batters scored fifties. After that, Sanju Samson showed his caliber of hitting big, and the right-handed batter scored a quick fifty before getting departed at 51. Hardik Pandya, who was the stand-in captain of the Indian team for the 3rd ODI, took his team to a massive score of 351 runs in 50 overs and scored his fifty as well in the match. In reply, West Indies scored just 151 runs and lost the decider to India by 200 runs.
India has so far won both Test and ODI series against the West Indies, and now both of them would clash in a five-match T20 series. The first T20I match of the five is on August 3rd, and as per some reports, big players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma would be given rest for the matches, youngsters would be given the opportunity to show their talent, and Hardik Pandya would lead the team. During the series, Tilak Verma and Yashasvi Jaiswal can be seen in action on the field.
