BCCI announced Indian squad for Ireland tour, Jasprit Bumrah to lead, Rinku Singh is in the squad.

BCCI finally announced the Indian squad for the three-match T20I series against Ireland, declaring Jasprit Bumrah as the captain of the team. Youngsters would be seen in action in the series as the key players would rest for some time due to the busy schedule ahead. Key Indian players are currently in the West Indies, and after the T20I series against the West Indies, they would be seen in the Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled for the first week of September, and then the big ICC event World Cup 2023 will commence in October. That’s why a team of youngsters would be seen in action against Ireland so that key players could be saved from exhaustion.

The IPL 2023 sensation Rinku Singh has also found a spot in the announced 15-man squad. This is the second time he has gotten a place in the Indian squad; earlier, the BCCI named him to be part of the Indian team for the Asian Games 2023, which are going to be held in Hangzhou, China. Jasprit Bumrah was last seen playing in September 2022, and since then he has been out of the team due to a back injury. But a recent announcement by the BCCI brought a smile back to Indian faces as Jasprit Bumrah is returning to the Indian squad and will be leading the team in the series.

Apart from Rinku Singh and Tilak Verma, Yashasvi Jaiswal is also in the squad. After having a great International Test debut for India, he will be seen donning the blue jersey in the limited overs format. Prasidh Krishna can be seen playing again after a long break. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be Jasprit Bumrah’s deputy for the matches.
