KL Rahul and Virat Kohli continued running the scoreboard with a slower run rate, though Virat Kohli scored another fifty, but he was trapped by Cummins in his slower delivery, which took the edge of his bat and went on to the stumps, dislodging the bails.
The whole crowd got silenced, and India lost its fourth wicket at 148. After that, players could only manage to add 92 runs and finish the innings with 240 runs.
Australia needed 241 runs to lift their sixth title and their start was also not good as David Warner got out in the second over when Australia’s score was 16 runs soon Mitchell Marsh also got dismissed on 15 runs and Indian fans were all fired up to see more wickets and Jasprit Bumrah added another wicket to his tally by taking wicket of Steven Smith, Australia was 47/3 and India was looking good but Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne’s partnership of 150+ runs broke the hopes of India, Travis Head scored his second ODI World Cup century and he got the support of Marnus Labuschagne in his innings who scored his fifty in the final both batters took Australia to their sixth ODI World title though Travis Head got dismissed before hitting the winning runs he did his job for his team.
