India fights rain odds in the 2nd test match to win it by 7 wickets.

India vs Bangladesh Test Series: India whitewashed Bangladesh in the two-match test series, winning it by 2-0. After getting a massive victory in Chennai’s test, India took on Bangladesh in the second and final test match of the series at Kanpur. The rain threat was already there after some play on day 1, where Bangladesh scored some runs—the next two days, no action happened; finally, on Day 4, play resumed, and Bangladesh scored 233 runs before getting bowled out. Rohit Sharma, with his back-to-back sixes in the first two deliveries he faced, made it clear that India is not looking to end the match in a draw, and that’s what they did by winning it in the final day by 7 wickets.

Weather played a spoilsport as the rainfall and wet outfield completely washed out two days of the test match. On Day 4, the match finally resumed as Bangladesh’s batters gave a tough time to Indian bowlers. Mominul Haque showed resistance to the Indian attack and scored a century for his team to take his team to the score of 233 runs in the first innings. In response, India scored 285, and Rohit Sharma declared the Indian innings with a lead of 52 runs to invite the opposition to bat again. On the final day, Indian bowlers and exceptional fielding efforts helped the host to stop the visitors on the lead of 92 runs, chasing the target within 17.2 overs.

After the test series, India will take on Bangladesh in a three-match T20 series where Suryakumar Yadav could be seen captaining the Indian side again after the Sri Lanka series. The first T20I match of the series will be played at Gwalior International Stadium, Madhya Pradesh, on 6th October 2024(Sunday).
