India vs. England 2nd Test: Shubman Gill Will Not Be Available On Field Due To Injury

India's right-handed batter, Shubman Gill, has injured his index finger and won't be fielding on the fourth day of the test match.

Shubman Gill replied to his critics with his century during the second test against England at Vizag. Shubman Gill, batting at number three during the second innings of the Indian team, scored 104 runs that increased the lead of India over England. This was Shubman Gill’s second test hundred, and it came at the right time. India’s former player Yuvraj Singh also praised the right-handed batter for his innings, but the recent update from the BCCI has worried fans because Shubman Gill would remain out of the action on Day 4 due to an injury that happened on Day 2 of the test match. Shubman Gill, while fielding, hurt his right index finger.

He will be replaced on the field by Sarfaraz Khan, who was expected to make his debut in international test cricket during the second test when he received his maiden test call from India; unfortunately, he didn’t get the chance in the playing XI, but he will be serving India as a substitute fielder. England is chasing the target of 399 runs, and as of now they are 7 down for 232 runs. The chances of India finishing the match as winners are high, and if they pull the victory in the second test, then the five-match series would be leveled at 1-1.

Here are the playing XI of both teams:

India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma (capt), Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, Srikar Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav

England: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (capt), Ben Foakes, Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Shoaib Bashir, James Anderson.
