India and Pakistan are likely to play against each other in the Asia Cup after the BCCI gives the green light and approves their participation against Pakistan, despite the ICC head being Jay Shah.
This one decision of the BCCI hurt millions of Patriotic Indians who mourn the loss of their fellow countrymen who have been killed by the Pakistan-supported terrorists in the name of religion.
When will India and Pakistan play in the 2025 Asia Cup?
The India-Pakistan fixture is likely to be played on September 7, 2025, in the Asia Cup. However, India is the host this time, but the match between Pakistan and India is likely to be played in the UAE, or the entire tournament will be held at UAE stadiums.
BCCI’s Stance on Bilateral Cricket:
Following the April 2025 attack, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took a strong public stance. BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla and other officials categorically stated that India will not play any bilateral cricket series with Pakistan, reinforcing a policy that has been in place for several years and is dictated by the Government of India.
The BCCI expressed deep condolences for the victims and condemned the attack in the strongest terms. Tributes were also paid during an IPL match, where players wore black armbands and a moment of silence was observed in memory of the victims.
The matches will be played in the T20I format, and there will be eight teams participating in the tournament, divided into two groups, A and B. After that, the two top teams from each group will play a semi-final match, and then the final. The exact date is set to be officially announced, but the first match is likely to be played at the start of September, just after the Bangladesh T20I series.
