SRH vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bengaluru, after six straight losses in the IPL 2024, finally made a comeback to win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 41st match of the IPL 2024. Sunrisers Hyderabad were favorites to win the game, but it wasn’t their night as RCB did their homework this time to defeat one of the most prolific sides of this year. RCB posted a total of 206 runs on the board on a batting-friendly surface, and looking at the batting line-up of the SRH, it wasn’t a huge total to chase, but RCB’s perfect deployment of the bowlers in powerplay and then after helped them register their second win of the IPL 2024.
After winning the toss, RCB’s skipper, Faf du Plessis, chose to bat first, and the openers of RCB provided the start to the team. Virat and Faf both attacked the bowlers and scored 48 runs inside 4 overs, but while trying to go aggressive, Faf got caught at Mid-off on the score of 25. After that wicket, the runs didn’t come frequently from Virat’s end. Rajat Patidar rescued the team like he did in the last match with marvelous hitting. He scored his third half-century for RCB this year. Rajat Patidar hit Markande for four consecutive sixes in the 11th over of the game, continuing the attack from one end, though after scoring his fifty, he got dismissed. However, Virat Kohli scored his fifty, which came in 37 balls. Cameron Green’s 37 runs and some shots from the impact substitute Swapnil Singh RCB reached 206/7 in 20 overs.
SRH started the chase with their dangerous opening pair of left-handers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, but this time, Travis Head couldn’t score more than 1 run for his team and got caught at short-third man. Abhishek Sharma continued the attack from one end and hit the ball out of the park whenever he wanted while repeating the same in a bouncer delivery; Dinesh Karthik caught him. It was Swapnil Singh’s over where the match shifted towards RCB as the all-rounder picked two wickets in his first IPL match, dismissing Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen in the same over. Afterward, the Batters failed to do anything significant, and RCB started putting more pressure on the opposition with their aggressive field set-up, making them make mistakes. Sunrisers Hyderabad could only reach 171/8 at the end of 20 overs as RCB won the match by 35 runs.

IPL 2024 41st Match SRH vs RCB: Captains’ Corner
“Last two games, we’ve shown great signs of fight. SRH game was 270 plus, we got 260. KKR game as well – 1 run. We’ve been close for a while, but you need to win matches to get confidence as a group. Will sleep easier tonight. You can’t speak confidence into the group, can’t fake confidence into the group. Only thing that gives confidence is performances. The competition is so strong, the teams are so strong that you’ll get hurt if you’re not at 100 percent. More guys scoring runs now. “First half of the tournament only Virat was scoring runs. Greeny scoring runs now will be massive for him. We know that Chinnaswamy, that’s been a big frustration for us. It’s a difficult ground to bowl at. We’ve tried to find a recipe for it, but it’s tough.”
Faf du Plessis said post-match
“Not an ideal night. Few over par with the ball and unfortunately lost a few wickets throughout our innings. We were gonna bat first, it seems to be working for us. Before the last few wins, we were thinking that we were a bowl-first team. Didn’t go our way.
