Jasprit Bumrah Will Not Play Fourth Test: Reports

Jasprit Bumrah is not going to play the fourth test in Ranchi.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah is set to be rested for the fourth test at Ranchi to manage the workload of the Indian bowler. Jasprit Bumrah has been the frontline bowler for India’s side in this test series against England and, so far, the highest wicket-taker in the series. The right-arm fast bowler took 17 wickets in the three matches he played, and according to Cricbuzz, there are reports that India is looking to rest their fast bowler for the fourth test. There are no updates yet on whether he will return to the team for the fifth test at Dharamshala or not.

The Indian team, after an emphatic win over England in the third test, will leave Rajkot on February 20th to reach Ranchi for the fourth test, which is going to start on February 23rd. India registered a massive victory of 434 runs against England, bowling out the visitors on the score of 122 runs in the second innings of the match. India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a double century in the third test, where debutant Sarfaraz Khan proved himself by scoring two fifties in the test match. In both innings, he scored a fifty, which led his team to a good total.

Chasing the target of 557 runs in the second inning, England’s batters didn’t offer a fight and succumbed to India’s bowling attack. Ravindra Jadeja took a wicket in the match and was named player of the match for his performance. The all-rounder not only picked up crucial wickets in the test match, but the local boy’s century in the first innings saved India from collapsing. It would be exciting to watch who will be named in the playing XI in the fourth test at Ranchi as KL Rahul is going to make a comeback after missing the second and third test match.
