“I will continue playing the way I think” Joe Root’s Reply To His Critics

England's Joe Root is in no mood to change his aggressive batting tactics in test cricket.

England’s right-handed batter Joe Root has faced a lot of criticism lately because of his aggressive batting style in test cricket, and during the test series against India, Joe Root was dismissed during an attempt to play one of the modern-day fancy shots at Rajkot. Joe Root, while playing a reverse scoop, got caught at slip by Yashasvi Jaiswal during the third test at Rajkot, and after his dismissal, England’s batting order collapsed, due to which the right-handed batter faced a lot of heat from England’s fans and former cricketers who questioned the batter’s thought process behind playing such an audacious stroke when it was needed the least.

Though he revived himself from the third test loss and played a brilliant innings of 122 runs in the first innings of the fourth test at Ranchi, which helped his team put a 300+ score on the board, eventually England’s side lost the match and the series at Ranchi, with India leading the series 3-1, but Joe Root is still confident in his aggressive game and has given the reply to the critics in his own way.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Joe Root addressed the criticisms he was facing due to his game and gave his reply to that by stating:

“People will have their own opinions on how I’ve got out through this series. I will continue playing the way I think is best for any given situation. “I have high expectations of myself and until that last Test match I was way below where I want to be, I will continue playing the way I think is best for any given situation. No one knows my game as well as I do”

England and India are going to Dharamshala to put an end to the five-match series. The fifth and final match of the test series will start on March 7th, 2024.
