Mohammad Kaif's warning for team India for the world cup

Former Indian all-rounder Mohammad Kaif opines that if this right-arm pacer doesn’t play in the ICC World Cup 2023, then it will be difficult for India to win the World Cup 2023. He named Jasprit Bumrah as the most important player in the Indian side for the World Cup. Mohammad Kaif believes that India will definitely suffer in the knockout games of the World Cup like they did last year in Australia in the T20 World Cup, as India lost the semi-finals against England by 10 wickets without Jasprit Bumrah. The bowling department of the Indian team didn’t perform in the knockout games despite being one of the strongest teams in the group matches. He was out of the T20 World Cup in 2022 due to a back injury.

Since September 2022, he hasn’t played a single match for India and has been working on his rehab, but recently positive news came out that he will be seen on the field soon in the India vs. Ireland T20I series, where he will be leading team India as a captain. The BCCI recently announced the Indian squad for the Ireland series, and Indian cricket fans are hoping that he will play well in the limited overs match so that he can gain the rhythm back before the Asia Cup 2023. Mohammad Kaif, while speaking during the launch of Amrit Mathur’s book ‘Pitchside, named the injured players who will probably miss the World Cup and mentioned Jasprit Bumrah as the key player in the squad.

Bumrah is coming now after a long injury lay off and we will get an idea on how fit he is. India need a fully fit Bumrah to do well in World Cup at home
We are missing KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant. The biggest factor is Bumrah. If he does not make a comeback then India will have to work harder. We still do not have Bumrah’s backup. If Bumrah does not play then we can lose.
