Mohammed Siraj was born on March 13, 1994, in Telangana, Hyderabad, to Late Mohammad Ghouse (his father) and Shabana Begum (his mother). Being from an underprivileged background, Siraj has to struggle for basic amenities; his father was an auto-rickshaw driver, and his mother worked as a maid in other houses. He studied at Safa Junior School, Hyderabad, but didn’t pursue higher studies as he wanted to focus on sharpening his cricket skills.

Siraj has an elder brother, Mohammed Ismail, who encouraged him to play cricket and did every possible thing he could to help Siraj improve his game. Due to financial constraints, Siraj practiced with a tennis ball and played with his friends on the streets near his house.

Siraj was not playing for any club till 2015. Then the day came to show his potential in front of the crowd when his friend invited him to a match at Charminar Cricket Club, and in that match, he took 5 wickets, which earned him a spot in the state’s U-23 cricket team.

In 2020, when he was going to play his first international test series, his father, Mohammad Ghouse, passed away just 1 week before his Australia tour. He had to leave his family in that moment to fulfill his and his father’s dream to play cricket for India, and he paid the best tribute ever to his father by playing a crucial role in India’s victory against Australia.

Domestic Career of Siraj:

Siraj made his first-class debut in 2015 when he played for Hyderabad in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy, and in the next Ranji Trophy season, 2016-17, he took 41 wickets and was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament for Hyderabad. In the 2015-16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he made his T20 debut, and later in 2017, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he became the leading wicket-taker.

IPL Career of Mohammed Siraj:

Mohammed Siraj’s cricket career got a breakthrough when he was purchased in the 2017 IPL auction by Sunrisers Hyderabad for an amount of 2.6 crores, and in 2018, he became part of the team Royal Challengers Bangalore. Since then, he has been playing for the same franchise. Year after year, he has improved his game, and RCB showed confidence in him and retained him for 7 crores.

International Career of Mohammed Siraj:

Siraj’s international career started in 2017 when he got selected to play against New Zealand in a T20 match, where he took his first international wicket.
