As the five-match test series just finished in Indian favor, Ravichandran Ashwin, the Indian magician, reclaimed his ICC No. 1 ranking in the test bowling category after his nine-wicket haul in the fifth test match against England in Dharamsala.

Ashwin finished as the highest wicket-taker in the five-match test series, taking 26 wickets in 5 matches at an average of 24.81 in his 156.3 overs. It was not an easy series for Ashwin because, due to a family problem, he had to leave the test match on day two, but he came back on day five.

Josh Hazelwood climbed the ranked 2 spot after his amazing spell in the final test match against New Zealand, in which he took six wickets to give support to the Australian team to win the series against New Zealand. Jasprit Bumrah, who was ranked No. 1 in the past, is taking the third sport in ranking. He had a good series against the England side, picking up 19 wickets in four matches.
