On March 19, 2024, in a UNBOX event by RCB at the M, Chinnaswamy Stadium replaced the anglicized ‘Bangalore’ with Bengaluru and now it will be called Royal Challengers Bengaluru from IPL 2024. For the last two years, RCB has been doing the UNBOX event before the start of the campaign where they UNBOX their new jersey and include player in their RCB Hall of Fame slot.
Fans of RCB wanted their team to change the name from Bangalore to Bengaluru for a long time and there were many posts in which fans of the franchise tweeted that they wanted them to change the name because it is an actual city’s vernacular name.

Who is included in the RCB Hall of Fame?
Vinay Kumar the Karnataka legend and former RCB player given the Hall of Fame for his five-season performance in which he took 105 wickets in 105 matches and he was the team’s highest wicket-taker in 2012 and 2013 in which he took 19 and 23 wickets respectively.
RCB gave Guard of Honor to the WPL Crowned Team of their franchise before the event started as Smriti Mandhana led his team for a victory lap in the stadium for the fans, which gave them immense happiness.
