RCB Registered Unique Record To Its Name After Win Over Mumbai Indians

Virat Kohli and other RCB players celebrating after a wicket

Royal challengers Bengaluru, under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, won their 3rd game of the IPL 2025 after winning it against Mumbai Indians by 12 runs at Wankhede Stadium; the win against Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians made RCB registered its name in the history of the IPL book as Royal Challengers Bengaluru now became the second team in the Indian Premier League to register a victory against KKR at Eden Gardens, CSK at Chepauk, and MI at Wankhede. Before the RCB, Punjab Kings was the only team able to achieve this unique milestone in 2012.

The Bengaluru-based franchise got a dream start in the IPL 2025 by registering a dominant victory against the defending champions, KKR, at Eden Gardens. KKR scored 174 runs; in reply, RCB chased the target in 16.2 overs courtesy of Phil Salt’s and Virat Kohli’s fifties. Then, in the second match, they did something incredible by becoming the first team to defeat Chennai Super Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium by a margin of 50 runs, which was the highest run-margin victory registered by any team against CSK at Chepauk.

Though RCB got a setback in their first home game of the IPL 2025 against Gujarat Titans, who defeated them by 8 wickets, they bounced back hard at Wankhede Stadium to stun MI. Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar’s fifty and then Jitesh Sharma’s 40 runs off just 19 balls helped RCB put 221 runs on the board. In reply, MI reached 209 runs as RCB’s bowlers restricted the MI batters to win the match by 12 runs.

The victories outside home show how RCB as a unit has changed in dealing with the away game pressure, and the collective effort of the players on the ground is reflected in their performance in the four matches played.
