“Rishabh went for scans” Shubman Gill provided a Major Update On Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant after getting injured in a test match

Shubman Gill led India fought a thriller at Lord’s against England, but unfortunately, they ended up on the losing side as the home team managed to snatch the victory by 22 runs to take a lead of 2-1 in the Anderson Tendulkar test series. The cause of concern isn’t just that England has a lead in the series; it’s also India’s wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant‘s injury, which played a crucial role in India’s defeat in the 3rd test.

On the first day of the 3rd test, while keeping the wickets, Rishabh Pant was hit on the index finger of his left hand, which left him unable to do the wicket-keeping as Dhruv Jurel kept the wickets for the rest of the test match. Rishabh Pant came to bat in both the 1st and 2nd innings. The agonizing look on his face was visible as he was struggling to bat, despite that he scored 74 runs in the first innings and helped his team reached the score of 387 runs but in the second innings where India was chasing 193 runs to win and were 4 down already he defended the deliveries well on Day 5 but the excruciating pain led to his dismissal as Jofra Archer shattered the off-stumps.

India’s test captain provided a major update on the wicket-keeper batter and said that there is nothing serious in the reports and Pant will be available for the 4th test match.

Rishabh went for scans, and there’s no major injury. So he should be fine for the next Test,” Gill told the media on Monday in London.

Shubman Gill said

India will play the 4th match of the test series in Manchester, which will start from July 23rd. It will be a do-or-die situation for India if they want to remain alive in the series.
