Childhood and Education:

Rohit Gurunath Sharma was born on April 30, 1987 in Nagpur, Maharashtra to Purnima Sharma and Gurunath Sharma. Due to some financial reasons he was raised by his grandparents in Borivali, Mumbai and had his schooling from Vivekanada high school where he got the scholarship and started training under his coach Dinesh Lad at the young age of 13.

Rohit Sharma got selected in the year 2004–05 in the Mumbai Under-17 cricket team and made his name in the U-19 cricket team as well. He had his List A debut in the year 2005 and his first-class debut in 2006, playing against New Zealand A. He played for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and hit some great knocks, earning him a place in the Indian cricket team.

International Career so far:

Rohit Sharma had his international ODI debut in the year 2007 against Ireland, and with his decent form he continued to get selected in the Indian squad and made his first ODI half-century against Pakistan in 2007; he made his first ODI century in the year 2010 against Zimbabwe, and later his form dipped, which lessened his chances of getting selected in any upcoming tours of India; but in the year 2013, when the ICC Champions Trophy was happening in England, he started coming top of the batting order and did wonders alongside Shikhar Dhawan and helped team India win its first ICC Champions Trophy.

Rohit Sharma made his T20I debut in the year 2007 when his maiden ICC T20I world cup happened with his half-century in the match against South Africa; India put a fighting total on the board in the quarter-final of the tournament; he made his first T20 century in the year 2015 against South Africa; and with his inception in the T20 world cup 2022, he became the only Indian batter who has played every T20 world cup since 2007.

Later on, he became part of the tour of India against Australia in the year 2018 and had a decent test series, as he made a half-century in the series and the Indian team won the series. In the year 2008, when the IPL got started, he became part of the Deccan Chargers (IPL franchise), got terminated from the IPL due to financial problems, and in the year 2011 he was inducted into the Mumbai Indians (IPL franchise), and he has been a part of the team since then. He got the captaincy of the Mumbai Indians in the year 2013, and in the same year Mumbai Indians won its maiden IPL trophy, he led his team to five IPL titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020). He is still leading the team as a captain in 2023.

Personal and Social Life of Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma shares moments with his fans frequently on social media, whether he is on or off the field. In the year 2015, he tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Ritika Sajdeh, and in the year 2018, the couple got blessed with a baby girl who they named “Samaira”. He always praised his wife’s contribution to making him a good cricketer, as she was always on his side when things were not in his favor.
