Ruturaj Gaikwad during a match

CSK’s skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, is slowly becoming a suitable successor to MS Dhoni as a captain. Though he couldn’t take his team in the playoffs as a debut captain in the IPL 2024, he started the team’s campaign in the ongoing league with a win over their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians and ahead of the team’s clash at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Ruturaj Gaikwad opened up on the newly appointed RCB captain and one of his close friends, Rajat Patidar about getting a big responsibility on leading franchise who has great player like Virat Kohli.

Recently on “Star Nahi Far”, Ruturaj Gaikwad said this about Rajat Patidar,

“Really looking forward to playing against RCB, especially with Rajat (Patidar) as the new captain. Immediately when they announced Rajat as the captain, I messaged him and wished him good luck. We have been friends for a while now, we know each other really well, and obviously, RCB has been one of the strongest teams”

Rajat Patidar said

Talking on Virat Kohli, who was the former captain of the franchise and one of the most challenging opponents for any team. He accepted that the presence of the former RCB captain brings a lot of eyes and attention, and the RCB has always been a side that the team always prepares for after MI.

“And whenever Virat Kohli is in the opposition, whenever he is playing, it is always a clash to look forward to. He’s been doing it for a really long time now, consistently for RCB and for the country as well. So, it is always a great match, and after Mumbai Indians, this is the second match we always look forward to.”

He said

The stats aren’t good for the RCB coming into the match at MA Chidambaram Stadium, as the last victory they got here was in 2008.
