SEC vs MICT: MI Cape Town registered a huge 10-wicket victory against Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the match 25th of the SA20 league.
MICT, after winning the toss, decided to bowl first, and the bowlers provided the start to the team. In the 3rd over, Kagiso Rabada picked up Tony de Zorzi’s wicket to get his team’s first breakthrough. Soon, Tom Bell got out as Dewald Brevis caught him at the backward square leg. After that, the downfall of the SEC’s batters started as no batter could handle the onslaught of the MICT’s bowlers. David Bedingham held his end but couldn’t get much help from the other batters. Corbin Bosch dismissed four players as SEC was bowled out for 107 runs in 19.2 overs.
Chasing the target of 108 runs, MI Cape Town started their innings with Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton. Both batters were on a mission and didn’t give the SEC’s bowlers many chances. In 8 overs, MICT was 84/0, and the batters continued to reach the target of 108 runs in just 11 overs. Ryan Rickelton scored his fifty, and Rassie van der Dussen contributed 48 runs in the chase to win the match.

Another one unfortunately, again you got to give credit to MI (Cape Town). They played really well, put us under pressure initially and we struggled to get away from that. A day we wanna forget and address it and move on from it quite quickly. You never wanna have any excuses as a team (on pitch and conditions). We (should) be able to put pressure on bowlers in better ways so those will be the discussions.
Aiden Markram(Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s Captain) said post-match
Fielding) is very important especially in this format. Today, before the game, we had the discussion to keep the continuity. I feel like the effort you put in fielding is very important. Fielding put us ahead in the game. (applauds the fielders Brevis and Reeza). Ground fielding was amazing, and I think it plays a huge role. It was important to finish with the bonus point and in top two. The way they have been batting together for last five six games (on openers), I feel it’s so good for the team and I hope they continue, and we keep things simple and have fun.
