Surya Kumar Yadav’s splendid innings took India to victory over the Caribbeans.

The West Indies vs India five-match T20I series has now taken a sharp turn towards India’s side as the team blue finally registered their first victory in the series courtesy Surya Kumar Yadav‘s special knock and balanced plus explosive Tilak Varma’s batting. Both batters took the responsibility of taking their team to victory and put on a run-show at the Providence Stadium, Guyana. Due to their explosive batting, India achieved the target of 160 runs in 17.5 overs, though Surya Kumar Yadav couldn’t reach another century in the T20I, but his knock of 83 runs in just 44 balls made the path to victory much easier. Youngster Tilak Varma supported Sky on the crease well and remained not out on 49 runs.

West Indies batters’ started well as openers Kyle Mayers and Brandon King had a fifty-run partnership after losing the first wicket. West Indian batters failed to gain the rhythm, though Nicholas Pooran was looking good and started smashing the ball out of the park, but his innings didn’t last long; he scored 20 runs, and captain Rovman Powell did the required damage by scoring 40 runs in just 19 balls. West Indies put a total of 159 runs on the scoreboard, which was a defendable one, but Surya Kumar Yadav was too much for them.

India’s innings while chasing the target of 160 runs started opposite to what they had planned as they gave a chance to the young Yashasvi Jaiswal, but he could only manage to contribute 1 run in the chase. Later, Shubman Gill also got out cheap as he scored just 6 runs. It was Surya and Tilak Varma who handled the situation and didn’t let the run rate slow down. Though Tilak Varma missed his second T20I fifty by just 1 run, he remained unbeaten, and India achieved the target of 160 runs in 17.5 overs.
