T20 Women’s World Cup 2024, Match 13th: WI(W) vs BAN(W)| Captains’ Corner
“We spoke about being really disciplined with the ball and I think it was great execution in getting them to hit where we wanted them to. And then with the bat the intent, we were able to take that through the innings. It was definitely a help in going into the last match with a healthy net runrate. [Ramharack and Campbelle?] Yeah they were great. She was so good at executing and bowling to her field the entire time. We know she’s one of our more experienced bowlers coming into the tournament, so it was good to see her get her rewards. [Stafanie Taylor?] I think she’s got a knee problem, but they’re trying to look after her really well.
Hayley Mathews(West Indies Captain) said post-match
“I think we had a very good start, but in the middle we played so many dots and then we gave them so many wickets as well. [what made it harder?] Their bowlers actually bowled really well in the middle overs, and weren’t giving us room to play our shots. We missed out so many singles also, which built the pressure. [learning?] There are a lot of things that we could take on as a learnings, especially you have to be positive in this kind of tournament. We have a side that’s not that experienced about this kind of tournament.
