THU vs HEA: In the match 25th of the Big Bash League 2024-25, Brisbane Heat defeated Sydney Thunder by five wickets to get its 3rd win of the season.
Brisbane Heat, after winning the toss, chose to bowl first. Oliver Davies and Thunder’s skipper David Warner started the innings from Sydney Thunder’s side. Though Davies hit some good shots early in the innings, he got out with a score of 10. Matthew Gilkes partnered with Warner, but his innings ended after he scored 20 runs. Wickets kept falling from one end, but David Warner held his ground and scored fifty. Thunder were beyond 125 runs in 14 overs, and then Spencer Johnson bowled Warner. In the end, Dan Christian scored some crucial runs to put the score of 173 on the board.
Chasing 174 runs, Brisbane Heat’s start wasn’t good as they lost Jack Wood in the first over of the chase, and then Colin Munro tried keeping his team in the chase but could only last until the eighth over of the match. Heat was three down for just 43 runs, and there were still many runs to chase. The partnership between Matt Renshaw and Max Bryant brought the Brisbane Heat back into the game. Max Bryant scored 72 runs and helped his team win the game with seven balls remaining.
