Gujarat Giants won the last match against Royal Challenger Banglore by 11 runs but Delhi Capitals Women lost their last match against Mumbai Indian Women by 8 wickets.

Gujarat Giants showed their batting strength in the last match and scored 201 runs but the bowling unit is still a concern for Gujarat Giants. Harlee Deol showed her class in batting, she scored 67 runs in 45 balls and Dunkley also played a brilliant, explosive inning scoring 65 runs in just 28 balls with a 232 strike rate showing her worth. Ashleigh Gardner scored 19 runs and took 3 wickets in her 4-over spell.

Delhi Capitals lost their first match of WPL 2023 against the mighty Mumbai Indians Women by 8 Wickets, Meg Lanning again showed why Delhi Capitals appointed her the captain of Delhi as she scored 43 runs in 41 Balls which is slow, but it was needed as no one else played well. Shafali Verma again failed to score big in the match. Saika Ishaque bowled her in the 2nd over and then Alice Capsey also got out cheaply. The main All- Rounder of the Delhi Capitals Women’s team, Marizanne Kapp bowled by Wong. Only Jemimah Rodrigues was able to score 25 runs which led Delhi Capital past the 100 mark. The pitch wore a bit down, so this time could see spin. It still going to favor batsmen and spinners can get some turn from the pitch because there were some patches in the match between Mumbai Indians Women VS Delhi Capitals.

Delhi Capitals women’s Team will look to get in their winning form again but it is going to be tough against the Gujarat Giants, who taste the Winning blood feeling and look solid in their last match against Royal Challengers Banglore.

Players to look out for in the Match between DCW VS GGT

Meg Lanning

The captain of the Delhi Capitals has been performing really well in WPL from the 1st match until now. She scored 185 runs in just 3 matches with an average of 61. She is the leading run scorer in the tournament right now. Hayley Matthews is 29 runs short from her place in the 2nd spot. Meg Lanning has a 36 average in the 132 T20 matches and scored 3405 runs in which she even scored 2 centuries.

Sophia Dunkley

The England Batting All-Rounder showed her class in the last match she played in WPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore as she scored a blistering 65 runs knock in just 28 balls with a 232 strike rate just showed what she can do as an opening batter. She is just like Shafali Verma, who is hit or miss player either they both score quick-fire runs or get out cheaply.

Marizanne Kapp

The South African All-Rounder has not shown her real potential and the experience she brings to the team but she can go out and wack the bowlers anytime soon. She only scored 57 runs in the Three matches and took just 1 wicket, which is a very poor performance by her.

Harleen Deol

She performed superbly in the WPL till now and sat at the 3 spot of the highest run-getter in the league. She scored 113 in three matches or you can see in two, because, in her first match, she was out on a duck against Mumbai Indians Women’s team. She can also bowl some spin bowling as she has 6 wickets in 22 T20 Matches. She scored 67 runs in just 45 balls in her last match against the Royal Challengers Banglore Women’s Team

The Match is a Do-or-Die match for Gujarat Giants and for the Delhi Capitals Women’s team, a ticket to the semi-final match. If Delhi wins this match, they will probably go into Semi-Finals, but for Gujarat Giants, it is a must-win Match.

Probable Lineup for the Both Team

Gujarat Giants (Playing XI): Sabbhineni Meghana, Sophia Dunkley, Harleen Deol, Annabel Sutherland, Sushma Verma(w), Ashleigh Gardner, Dayalan Hemalatha, Sneh Rana(c), Kim Garth, Mansi Joshi, Tanuja Kanwar

Delhi Capitals Women (Playing XI): Meg Lanning(c), Shafali Verma, Marizanne Kapp, Jemimah Rodrigues, Alice Capsey, Jess Jonassen, Taniya Bhatia(w), Minnu Mani, Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav, Tara Norris

There can be some changes in the Delhi Capitals Women’s side, but it’s still not Delhi batting; their strong side failed in the last match. On the other hand, Gujarat Giants are struggling with their bowling unit.
