Yuvraj’s Father, Yograj Singh Said Controversial Statements On MS Dhoni And Kapil Dev

Yograj Singh again criticized former Indian captain MS Dhoni, accusing him of spoiling his son Yuvraj Singh's career.

Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, who himself served Indian cricket in his young days, doesn’t have a liking for the former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In the past, Yograj Singh had said many negative statements about MS Dhoni, accusing the latter of ruining the career of his son Yuvraj Singh, and recently, on the Zee Switch YouTube channel, he again attacked the former captain, and this time, he also mentioned 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev. The two had a strained relationship since the exclusion of Yograj Singh from the Indian team back in 1981. In fact, in previous interviews, he also revealed that he vowed to take revenge for the injustice he felt happened to him.

The greatest captain of our time, Kapil Dev… I told him, I’ll leave you in a position where the world would curse you. Today, Yuvraj Singh has 13 trophies, and you have only one, the World Cup. End of discussion,”

Mr. Yograj Singh said in the interview

After his remarks on former captain Kapil Dev, he didn’t forget to mention MS Dhoni, with whom he shares a sour relationship. He believes that his son’s cricket career was shortened due to the 2011 World Cup-winning captain.

“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life. I have never done two things in life—first, I have never forgiven anybody who has done wrong for me, and second, I have never hugged them in my life, be it my family members or my kids,”

He added

What is interesting to note is that his son Yuvraj Singh never criticized his former teammate. In fact, under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, Yuvraj Singh played some of the most memorable innings of his life. His innings in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup, where MS Dhoni served as Indian captain, are still fresh in Indian fans’ memories.
