After Zaka Ashraf’s “Enemy Nation” Comment PCB Released Statements For Damage Control

Pakistan Cricket Board management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf faced a lot of heat from both nations (India and Pakistan) cricket fans after his indirect reference to India as an “enemy nation”. Zaka Ashraf, in the video that went viral, allegedly referred to India as “Dushman Mulk” or “Enemy Nation” the day after Pakistan’s team received a warm welcome from the Indian crowd when they arrived in India. PCB, stepping in between the controversy, released some statements late Friday to do the damage control, acknowledging India’s brilliant arrangements for Pakistan’s team on their arrival and the love shown by Indian fans. PCB, quoting Zaka Ashraf, said that
“Chairman PCB’s Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, has stated that the fantastic reception of the Pakistan men’s cricket team in India for the World Cup proves how much love the people of both countries have for each other’s players”
PCB said
Explaining the Ashraf’s intentions to revamp the cricketing relations between the two nations, PCB mentioned in its statements that both nations need to re-establish the cricketing relations so that both teams could battle on the cricket field apart from the ICC events, which would benefit the fans across the borders who wait to see their favorite players on the field.
He (Ashraf) expressed his desire for the restoration of bilateral cricketing relations between the two countries, allowing millions of cricket fans from both nations the opportunity to watch these players perform live.’
Ashraf concluded
Pakistan’s start in their World Cup 2023 campaign didn’t go according to their plans, as in their first warm-up match they got defeated by a spirited New Zealand’s team. New Zealand achieved the humongous target of 346 runs in just 43.4 overs, beating Pakistan in the warm-up match by 5 wickets. Pakistan and India are scheduled to clash on October 14th, 2023, in Ahmedabad.
