Chelsea Rejected £40m Bid from West Ham for Conor Gallagher

West Ham United’s bid of £40m is rejected by the Blues as the club wants more for one of their homegrown talents Conor Gallagher. Right now, Gallagher is in the pre-season squad with the Chelsea club, and in the match against Brighton, he scored a goal to help his team to win the match by 4-3.
West Ham United are in the hunt to bring 1-2 highly talented midfielders after their superstar Declan Rice moved to Arsenal for about 105 million euros. They are also tracking James Ward-Prowse of Southampton, who can join them because his club was relegated this year and will be in the Championship league, which is tier-1 of the English Premier League.
Chelsea is open to selling Gallagher but for the right price because their main target is Brighton’s young talented player Moises Caicedo and they are also linked with Mohammed Kudus from Ajax, who is known for his amazing tackling play. The Blues are looking for the perfect partner for their star midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who came to Chelsea club in January 2023 for a record-breaking deal for the club, which was around €121, making him the most expensive midfielder.
Conor Gallagher is still not the confirmed midfielder for the Chelsea club as he only played 35 matches for the club, scoring 3 goals. He was one of the main players for Crystal Palace in the 2021-2022 season, in which he played 34 matches and scored 8 goals. This was his best season so far, but he is also one of the most promising midfielders for the Chelsea club, as he is just 23 years old.
Chelsea already sold 11 players till now in the summer after the new manager Mauricio Pochettino did not consider Gallagher as their main midfielder, which is why they are still negotiating for Caicedo, but Brighton rejected the last bid of 70 million euros from Chelsea as they want to keep him for their next season. They will also play in Europa League, which will be their first-ever chance to be in the European competition.
