Brighton star goalkeeper Robert Sanchez agreed to be the first-choice goalkeeper for Brighton after the club gave a green signal to let the player go to another club. Chelsea recently sold their UEFA Champions League-winning goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to Al-Ahli for about £16m.
Chelsea needed one top talented goalkeeper who would give tough competition to Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is right now Chelsea first choice keeper, but after bringing in Robert Sanchez, it is going to be hard for Kepa to start every match because Sanchez is one of the top talents right now in the European league.
It was ana quick transfer deal between the two clubs because there were not much of rumors about this deal, but suddenly the news popped up that Sanchez agreed on the personal term with the Chelsea team and will now join them quite soon.
Mauricio Pochettino, the new manager of Chelsea FC, did quite nice work in the Pre-season, as they not lost any matches and had only one draw. The team is looking in sync after cutting off around 12 players from the squad. Sanchez is just 25 right now and has been on loan since 2018.
Pochettino is happy with the signing, but many fans and experts think that Chelsea overpaid for him, which they always do for every player, and in the end, it never works out, just like they did when they bought Kai Havertz, Kepa, and Lukaku.
Chelsea is also still going for Moises Caicedo to join the team, but Brighton wants at least 100 million euros for him, which is quite expensive because it was his 2nd season in which he performed well. Chelsea team recently sold five top talented midfielders, including Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, and Mason Mount.
Chelsea bought only one midfielder, Lesley Ugochukwu, from Rennes for about 23.5 million euros, but they already decided to send him on loan to Strasbourg.
